The MA in TESOL at PUCMM is a practice-oriented program based on recognition of the need for qualified teachers trained in an interactive and participatory model for teaching English as a foreign language. It is aimed at educators who want to specialize in their acquisition of knowledge and professional skills when teaching English to non-native English speakers. This program was built around the need to support national education in order to prepare teachers in both of these areas, allowing them to improve the teaching and learning of English as a foreign language. By offering this degree, we will have a group of qualified educators teaching English in the near future. The program consists of a series of specialized modules in the teaching of English as a Foreign Language and related disciplines, and a thesis.

The program favors an approach in which both oral and written communication are emphasized, in an environment where classes are highly participative, focused on the student, and where the creativity of the teacher and the use of a variety of resources are promoted. It also reflects a new educational model that proposes the formation of autonomous subjects. The learning theory that is favored is social constructivism, in a broad sense.

By opting to study for a Master's degree in TESOL at PUCMM, participants are embracing a commitment to continuing professional development and personal growth, and are also enhancing their promotion possibilities. The program aims to strengthen participants' teaching and professional competencies in the teaching of English as a Foreign Language, thus elevating the effectiveness of their teaching performance.

Studying for the MA in TESOL should be seen as the next step in career progression by helping educators to develop a critical approach to teaching and increasing their ability to think and act more systematically.
